Back in the early days of the internet — before 1998 so or — the internet was a money tree, as long as you were selling something that featured tits, ass or pussy. In those halycon days, a few humble beings were inspired by an ever-fickle golden muse to launch porn sites based on a few simple but powerful ideas. Some of these beings had the moxie to maintain their business through the fabled Internet Crash and some had idea good enough that they survived even though the principles were notably moxie-less. A few of the standout were:
A mild-mannered English gent with a penchant for bondage was happily inspired by an Andrew Blake movie to realize that guys like to watch pretty women getting fucked but really don’t like some other guy’s hairy spotted ass getting in the way. So he launched Fucking Machines for money and Hogtied for pleasure and made a mint, or has history would have it, an Armory.
A less pleasant sort discovered that if you asked people to send you naked pictures for free that you could post on the internet and charge money for, they would — in large numbers. Thus VoyeurWeb was born. We are not fans. VoyeurWeb’s schtick invloved posting zillions of photos with captions like: “if my GF/wife/sister knew I was posting this she’d KILL ME!” I’ve no idea how true this is, but to the extent it is — no small extent — I hope she did, and she did. Any such asshole deserves a lingering and painful death. VoyeurWeb prospered however, though the potentially illegalites of their business model appear to have made them seek refuge amongst the sympathetic despots out in the Far Reaches of the Earth.
But the most succesful (or so I suspect) was the guy who concluded that if the primary purpose of a dating site was to get laid, the goods should be out in full view. So he started Adult Friend Finder which has since appeared under a large variety of domains, including Lesbian Personals (which we like because the graphics are much less tacky). AFF has been wildly successful; not so much as a dating site perhaps but it is now very probably the largest porn site the world has ever known.
AFF has millions of members, only fraction of which post anything, but that fraction results in a huge amount of content. Of course most the posters are men and most of them are perfectly hideous, but they are easily filtered out. The number of women and girls is high enough and diverse enough that 99.9% of the male population will never be bored. There are many millions of snapshots and a many thousands of cell-phone quality videos too, some of which have their charm.
But what AFF mainly is these days is a massive cam portal. At any given time a few dozen decent looking women or couples (more on the weekends) and about 1000 ugly guys are on cam fucking or masturbating. (It is kind interesting to check out the stats of the guys to see how many actually are be watched — generally damn few. Why so many guys would jack off on a cam no one is watching is not something I care to think about.)
So you like cams, AFF is actually a pretty good deal. The videos clips and photos are an interesting documentary of the world with her skirt up and legs spread, but tend to wear kind of thin after awhile. The main drawback has historically been that AFF wanted to maintain this fiction that they were a dating service, not a massive viewer-supported porn site, so they cheaped out on the infrastructure – cams feeds hardly ever worked (about 1 on 5 or 1 in 10 for the attractive people would actually show up); the site often bogged down under the traffic load, and not infrequently failed completely,
But last time we visited, they seemed to have finally resigned themselves to the truth and beefed up the infrastructure and made things more reliable. That was months ago, but hopefully they have maintained it.
If you want to meet someone, I’m sure there are much better options. For one thing, whole AFF claims to be free which it sort of is, but it costs if you want to do anything at all fun (unless you are female and cute in which case arrangements can be made). But if you think of AFF as what it is: the World’s Largest Porn Site; the price is quite reasonable.
